What is love anyway? That's what Francine and Helen would like to know. After graduating from Santa Monica Community College with a degree in communications Francine Bigalow took to the world and got a job at Book Soup on Sunset. Meanwhile Helen Selkirk had just finished a tour in the Marine Reserve, and eager to use her amphibious assault skills, took a job managing an El Torito Restaurant. Then one day fate took the reigns. When Helen and Francine giggled over the same phrase of the day at the Coffee Bean on Sunset, and while they drank their no sugar added mocha ice blendeds with "just a touch" of whipped cream the dream was born. "I wish there was a nurturing safe place for real love to grow", said Helen. "How 'bout my squash garden, ha ha", said Francine. But as the laughter faded the idea grew. Francine quit Book Soup Helen moved in and the garden grew.
